An exceptional rarity, Black Opal with Firework Asteria pattern!
Asteria is a very rare pattern in opal that can have the appearance of an explosion that moves outwards from a nucleus. It looks like "the birth of Jesus” or “It’s a sunrise” or, “I see the Northern lights”. Some have even said it looks like the Eye Of Sauron. This particular stone is exceptionally rare forming with multicolor fire on a black base. With all its amazing colours we call this stone a firework asteria pattern, a true rarity fit for a collector. I see a peacock showing off its feathers, what do you see?
This opal was mined in a mulga claim; Australia and was cut, polished and set into a one of a kind stud by me in solid 14k yellow gold. View the second last photo to see the rough opal before I cut it. The post is double notched for extra security and will come with titanium butterfly back. I prefer titanium earring backs as they are extra secure and hypoallergenic.
