This necklace is entirely handwoven using traditional silversmithing techniques. It features a unique golden starburst rutile quartz gemstone as the centre and focal point of the design. Accenting the warm colours in the quartz and gold accents is a minty green coloured emerald. The geometry and composition of the pendant are entirely created in response to the stones. This piece is made of both fine and sterling silver with 14K yellow gold filled accents. This piece has been oxidized to make the stone and gold accents stand out.

It is 5cm tall and will come on a leather cord like pictured. The back is finished and comfortable to wear.

Rutilation occurs naturally during the quartz formation process with heat and pressure. A simple understanding is that it's a "captured" inclusion of titanium dioxide rutiles. It has a gold, reddish brown or black color. As it contains two types of crystals it symbolizes synergy, since this stone by its very nature must create harmony between the two stones that work within it.

Quartz forms in a six sided prism and so can the titanium dioxide within it. Sprays of 3, 4, 5, and 6 are called stars. Stars must include the matrix from which they grew. Maximum and rarest number of rays is six. This particular piece features a rare six sided star formation, beautifully framed and magnified by the crystal clear quartz for you to gaze upon.

You will always receive the exact stone pictured. I do my best to describe and capture them in different lighting and as accurately as possible under varying conditions. Colours may look different from monitor to monitor.

All my jewelry settings are handcrafted in response to my hand cut one of a kind gemstones. I aim to do each stone justice by listening to what they want, cutting and crafting a setting to fully showcase it in the jewellery it was always meant to be.
